Remember, golf is meant to be fun, so why not start having some? What you need is to change your perspective. But doing that takes more than just forgetting about the high number on your scorecard – it takes reacquainting yourself with the game of golf. But how?
Pimp My Golf Cart (Redux)
Back in November of ’09, I posted Pimp My Golf Cart. Now, due to positive feedback and emails about how ya’ll really dug the post and the golf carts in it; here’s another helping of tricked-out, rim-sportin’, system-bumpin’ club cars for your viewing pleasure! It just amazes me the levels of customization people will take their golf carts to. The more I search around the more I am impressed with the craftsmanship and creativity that goes into building these carts. It’s as if there’s an underground community of custom golf cart aficionados. If you think about it, this could open-up a whole new demographic of people that may have never really had much exposure to golf. Who knows, maybe the person that installed the 50,000-watt stereo system in the E-Z GO could become a fellow weekend hack. And to think, all because a golf cart piqued their curiosity. I’ve seen some pretty crazy modifications done to golf carts that range from Louis Vuitton or Gucci leather seats, to lift kits that rival a monster truck. All in all, these custom carts might not appeal to every golfer, but it definitely brings a uniqueness and flair to the sport. Regardless, even if they are never used on the course, they still carry the name; Golf Cart.
Four Letter Words In Golf.
How’s your language on the golf course? We all are very familiar with those, right? I’m pretty sure if you played at least one round of golf in your life you became subjected to these words pretty quickly. Funny thing, I’ve noticed these words can also be an indicator of how good a player you are. Let’s take a closer look at this. Drawing from my basic knowledge of accounting, numbers don’t lie. Just like anything analytical or statistical it all comes down to numbers. So, besides that these are 4 letter words, how do numbers come into play? Glad you asked! It’s all about frequency. How often are these words used on the course. Think about it. If you were to count how many times you used the “f” word, “s” word, or damn in a round and compare it over 10 rounds, you will notice that the higher the cursing the higher your score. Then there’s the other “f” word, which is the biggest indicator of how you are playing – fore. “Fore” carries more weight than any other four letter word or curse you could conjure up on the ol’ track. If you have to use this word more than any of the other choice words you might want to reconsider if golf is right for you. Try a little experiment on your next few outings and see what you come up with.
The 2024/25 GOLF Magazine US Top 100
It seems like you can’t open up X or Instagram without another Top 100 golf ranking appearing. Some, however, hold more weight in the golf community than others and the GOLF Magazine US Top 100 comes out pretty much near the top of the pile. Every two years the panellists from GOLF Magazine vote on their top 100 courses in theUSA, in the odd years they turn their attention to the World Top 100. The panel is made up of just over 100 members who simply put their choices in ‘buckets’. You can read more about the methodology here. They used to publish a list of the members of the panel too. That seems to have disappeared from the website but hopefully it will come back soon as it brought a welcome transparency.
